A 21-year-old Jersey City man was charged with attempted murder after stabbing an out-of-town man who tried to stop him from breaking into cars on a Hoboken street, authorities said. Randy Barrett Jr. stabbed one of four men who confronted him near the corner of Fourth and Jefferson streets around 4:15 a.m. March 16, city police said. Sgt. A deejay from Paterson was one of five carjackers who robbed a victim at gunpoint in the Target parking lot along the Hudson River in Edgewater earlier this year, authorities charged. Corrections officers responded to the cell of Jason Sworn after his cellmate told them he had fallen out of bed and was complaining of chest pain around 10:45 p.m. Monday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A Jersey City man had a loaded handgun on him when he was stopped by police for having tinted windows, front license plate and a bogus rear license plate in Secaucus, authorities said. A Mahwah ex-con with a 25-year criminal history was arrested in Secaucus by police who said they found him with a woman’s purse stolen during a pair of car burglaries.
